The White Ring Neck Parrot is an exquisite colour mutation (often a form of albino or recessive white) of the Indian Ringneck, displaying pure white plumage with red eyes and an almost undetectable neck ring on the male. This striking monochrome look is highly prized. Temperamentally, they are identical to the standard Ringneck: highly intelligent, confident, and capable of learning a large vocabulary. They are active and demand mental engagement. They possess the species’ signature loud, screeching vocalization, which is the main care consideration for noise management.

Tamability and Maintenance: White Ring Necks are highly tamable and make devoted, if sometimes opinionated, pets. They are a moderate to high maintenance bird, requiring a spacious cage and dedicated daily socialization and intellectual stimulation. Due to their red-eyed genetics, they can be slightly more sensitive to bright light and should be protected from direct, intense sun. Consistent training is necessary to manage their strong will. Their long lifespan is 25-30 years, requiring a significant commitment.

Diet: The diet should be based on a high-quality, medium parrot pellet formula. This must be supplemented daily with fresh fruits and a wide variety of vegetables.
