What’s in a Dubai Birds pre-sale vet check

Birds are notoriously good at hiding illness, which is why a generalist’s once-over isn’t enough. Our pre-sale checks are performed by avian-credentialled vets and cover the same areas an experienced buyer would inspect themselves — only with the right equipment and clinical experience.

    • · Body weight, body condition score, and feather quality
    • · Beak, cere, eye, and nare inspection
    • · Cloacal swab where indicated
    • · Auscultation (heart and respiratory listening)
    • · Crop palpation and faecal examination
    • · PBFD / polyomavirus / psittacosis screening for high-value birds
    • · Documented certificate handed to the buyer with the bird

    Partner clinics

We work with a small number of avian-credentialled clinics across the UAE. Names are listed on individual health certificates with the relevant vet. If you’d like a referral to one of our partners for an annual wellness check, message us and we’ll introduce you directly.

Partner clinic profiles are added as we get explicit consent to list each veterinarian by name. In the meantime, your bird’s health certificate carries the name and clinic of the examining vet, and we’re happy to make introductions.

What to do if your bird seems unwell

Birds compensate until they can’t. The first signs of illness are often subtle — sleeping more, less chatter, slightly puffed feathers, a shift in droppings consistency. By the time a bird is visibly unwell, it’s usually well into a problem.

If your bird shows any of those subtle signs, message us first — we can often triage by photo / short video and recommend whether to monitor at home or get to an avian vet that day.
