What we do not offer: a health guarantee. We do not give refunds or replacements based on a bird’s health after it has left our care. Advice is always available on WhatsApp, and the 2-day return window above is the only return route. Accessories and other non-living products have their own 14-day rule on the returns policy.
3. Returns in short
- ·Contact us on WhatsApp within 2 days of purchase.
- ·The bird must be in the same health condition, with no signs of mistreatment or injury, and any cage or accessories bought with it unused and in original packaging.
- ·The 60% refund is the full amount you receive. We do not pay for collection or transport separately.
- ·After 2 days, returns and exchanges are not accepted.
Full wording: returns policy, section 7 of our terms.
4. New-arrival checklist for your first weeks
- Days 1 to 3: quiet, no handling, no visitors. The first 3 days are the most stressful for the bird.
- Days 4 to 7: sit near the cage.
- Week 2: talk to the bird and offer treats through the bars.
- Weeks 3 and 4: step-up and short out-of-cage time.
- Cover the cage sides and top for the first week, and keep cats and dogs away for at least 2 weeks.
- Do not move the cage, and avoid overhandling, the most common beginner mistake.
- Keep feeding the same food the bird came with and change it gradually over weeks, not during settling-in. A new bird may eat only when nobody is watching.
- Weigh the bird every morning and treat a steady drop as a warning.
- Give 10 to 12 hours of sleep a night.
- Keep a new bird apart from other birds for at least 30 days, longer if you already have other birds, and book an avian vet check within a few days.
Settling-in usually takes 3 to 7 days, and up to 2 weeks for nervous or rehomed birds. For the full UAE-specific plan, including air conditioning and summer heat, see our first 30 days guide and the bringing a new bird home guide.
5. When to call a vet
Call an avian vet if you see any of these:
- Fluffed up for long periods, or sitting on the cage floor.
- Tail-bobbing or laboured breathing.
- Not eating, or no droppings, for a day.
- Watery, bloody or black droppings.
- Eyes closed much of the day.
- Discharge from the eyes or nostrils.
Then message us on WhatsApp too. We can advise and refer you to one of our vet partners.
