Tamability
Fully-TamedThe Hyacinth Macaw is the largest flying parrot species in the world, reaching up to 100 cm (40 inches) from head to tail. Their stunning cobalt-blue plumage is complemented by bright yellow accents around the eyes and lower beak. Despite their impressive size, Hyacinth Macaws are known as 'gentle giants' — they are extremely affectionate, playful, and form deep bonds with their owners. They are highly intelligent and can learn tricks, mimic speech, and even use tools. These magnificent birds require spacious enclosures, plenty of socialization, and a diet rich in nuts, especially macadamia and palm nuts. With proper care, they can live 50–60 years, making them a truly lifelong companion.
Tamability & Maintenance
Hyacinth Macaws are highly tamable and thrive on intellectual and social engagement.
Diet
A specialized diet centered on high-fat nuts (macadamia, palm nuts, Brazil nuts), supplemented with high-quality macaw pellets, fresh fruits like papaya and mango, and leafy greens.
